Why I chose ODU: I chose ODU to continue on the family legacy and due to how good their nursing program is. I love that I get to stay close to family and friends while also achieving my dreams.
Interests\hobbies: I love to play sports especially volleyball and soccer. I love volunteering, being with my friends, and in my free time I love to travel.
Major: Nursing
My purpose: I chose nursing due to the fast paced work, the constantly changing environment, and being able to help those who are at their worst. Being able to be by my patients side and walk with them along their journey is my calling. Even when it is a case where they will not get better. Being able to bring someone comfort and truly be their for them and comfort them on their final days is such a beautiful experience.
Experience- I have volunteered in the emergency department and with fire station 4 in Chesapeake. I graduated TCC with my EMT, Pharmacy Technician, Health Professions, Phlebotomy, and CNA certifications. Currently I work at Sentara Norfolk General as a Nursing Care Partner on their step down unit. I am also CPR, First Aid, and AED certified.
