Group Members

Dr. Oleksandr G. Kravchenko has joined Old Dominion University after completing his doctoral work at Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana) and post-doctoral work at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio). His main research interests are in the area of developing computational structure-property relationship models of composite materials, which incorporate the effect of manufacturing process conditions on composite mechanical behavior.
Currently, he is working in the area of design and characterization of hybrid and functional polymer based composites and composite repair. The research efforts are based on applying computational micromechanics and damage mechanics for understanding the intricate structure-property behavior of the various composites as well as process modeling, coupled with experimental validation of the developed models.
