Oral Presentation Intro Page: Pediatric Grand Rounds
Purpose of the Assignment: To provide the student an opportunity to integrate knowledge from the sciences, developmental theory, and physical assessment data to the care of a pediatric patient and family in the acute care setting. The student will utilize critical thinking and independent judgments in presenting a holistic plan of care in a formal oral presentation.
Student Approach to Assignment: My approach to this assignment was to use a real-world case that I faced during my clinicals. I used informatics and research to dissect the case. I then took all that I learned and turned it into a visual and verbal presentation to help teach other students and faculty about the case.
Reason for Inclusion of the Assignment in the Portfolio: I included this assignment in my portfolio due to the importance of case studies and presentations. As nurses we present our patients every shift during shift change. It is also important that when we have a special case such as this one, we can find research-based evidence to help guide our care and help us teach other staff about the care we are giving to our patient.

- When doing research about my grand rounds I used the data from the case that I was presenting as well as researched data from other similar cases to incorporate into my presentation.
