Phytoplankton Analysis Lab Supervisor

I am the Laboratory Supervisor for Dr. Mulholland’s Phytoplankton Analysis lab at ODU. I received my M.S. in Oceanography and Coastal Sciences and a Graduate Certificate in GIS from Louisiana State University and my B.S. in Marine Biology from Texas A&M – Corpus Christi. My previous research experience has explored temporal and spatial trends of phytoplankton and zooplankton in coastal and marine environments, ecological modeling of aquatic organisms in response to hypoxia events in bay systems, and ecosystem services in critical watersheds. My duties as the Lab Supervisor focus on sample analysis via microscopy, harmful algal bloom (HAB) response, supervising students and staff, lab maintenance, and providing a helping hand for all the exciting research being done in the Mulholland Lab. In my free time I enjoy thrift shopping, hanging out with my husband and our fur kids – Bertie and Bonnie, and spending time at the beach.
