With the rapid discovery of new technological devices and advances out there, it can be hard for us as consumers and human beings to keep up with. Markets, businesses, and groups are definitely having difficulty with this as something new is being discovered everyday. They need to be able to adapt to these changes in the world in order for their business to be successful. For instance, companies such as Amazon have already adapted to the advancement in technology. Specifically, Amazon is a great example of how technology makes life easier for us. On Amazon, you can buy just about anything from clothing to groceries without even leaving your home. Furthermore, a statement that I found interesting in Verbeek’s article was “under the name of ‘persuasive technologies’, products and systems are being developed to persuade people to behave in specific ways” (Verbeek). I think that this goes to show how much technology affects us not only physically but mentally as well.

For example, let’s look at what we are dealing with today. All of our gas prices have increased by $2.29 to $3.31, our car dealership lots are empty, etc. In addition, we are having a hard time keeping up with the economy because all of our items that we function off of come from other countries. Currently, all of our ports have come to a halt. We have ships with containers sitting out in the ocean. People are still trying to figure out how we as a country are going to function with the prices of everything going up. Other countries are having a hard time keeping up with the market because they are dealing with personnel shortages among other things. I say this to say that everything that we do in today’s society deals with computers, electronics, and software. The world has to start working together as one because one country cannot operate without the other. Every country does some type of trade with each other. This is why technology and working together as one, allows us to become stronger as a country and as a nation.
