We are happy to announce the keynote speaker of Old Dominion University’s 46th Annual Spring Conference on Teaching of Writing: Dr. Melissa Ianetta. Dr. Ianetta hails from Georgia Institute of Technology as the University’s Executive Director of Writing and Communication Program. She is also the recently elected Assistant Chair of the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC).
Ianetta researches and teaches on topics such as writing program administration, peer tutoring, writing culture, editing practices, and the effect of disciplinarity on pedagogy. Her work has appeared in such venues as College English, College Composition and Communication, PMLA, Rhetoric Review, WPA: Writing Program Administration. With Lauren Fitzgerald (Yeshiva University), she co authored The Oxford Guide for Writing Tutors: Practice and Research, co-edited Writing Center Journal and were the joint recipients of the Ron Maxwell Award for Distinguished Leadership from the National Conference for Peer Tutors in Writing. With Kelly Ritter (Georgia Tech), she edited Landmark Essays in Writing Program Administration. Dr. Ianetta is Past Editor of College English.
