History

The ODU Inn was built in 1989 to house visitors to ODU. In the late 1990s, the university experienced a housing shortage and acquired the inn. The first students moved into the inn in 2000. When the inn first opened, there were 58 rooms to house 58 students, and required students to be over 21 and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better. During the summer months, the inn has been used to house conferences and summer camps.
