Engineering Systems Building (ESB)

The Engineering Systems Building (ESB) is one of the four buildings dedicated to the Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology on the campus of Old Dominion University (ODU). The building is located between the Patricia W. and J. Douglas Perry Library and Kaufman Hall.

History

ODU held a groundbreaking ceremony for the ESB in October 2012 to as part of the 50th anniversary celebration commemorating the establishment of the School of Engineering at ODU. The 50,000 square-foot building houses the Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology dean’s office, plasma science and laser labs, a dynamic environment simulation lab, a clean room, and four large project studios. Opened in 2014, the building also contains the Engineering Fundamentals Division and the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering.
