School of Cybersecurity

The School of Cybersecurity is one of the four schools at Old Dominion University (ODU). ODU currently offers a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in cybersecurity. The school is interdisciplinary in nature and reports to the Office of Academic Affairs. The school is housed in Monarch Hall.

History

The School of Cybersecurity was established as the Center for Cybersecurity Education and Research in 2015 with 11 students. The State Council of Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV) approved the Master of Science in cybersecurity in 2018 and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity in 2019. Due to the rapid growth of the program, the center turned into the School of Cybersecurity in 2020. By Fall 2023, approximately 1300 students enrolled in cybersecurity courses at ODU.
