Superdance was an event sponsored by Old Dominion University (ODU) to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

History

In the fall of 1975, in an effort to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the student body organized a danceathon at the Webb University Center. Later known as Superdance, the danceathon became an ODU tradition in the 1970s and 1980s and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help fight the disease. In 1981, ODU raised $32,000 in 50 hours, ranking fifth in the nation in funds raised.
