Barry M. Kornblau Alumni Center

Barry M. Kornblau Alumni Center, circa 2010

The Barry M. Kornblau Alumni Center, located at the corner of 49th Street and Hampton Boulevard, is home to the Alumni Association at Old Dominion University (ODU). The building is named in honor of Barry M. Kornblau, class of 1971 and a member of the ODU Board of Visitors.

History

The building originally opened in 1984 as the Public Safety Building that house the ODU Police Department. The police occupied the building until 2003, when new offices opened in the University Village. With the generous gift of Barry M. Kornblau, the alumni center opened in 2004. Since then, the building has hosted events for the over 140,000 alumni of ODU.
